We have all been there; I know I have in the past. Had a crap day at work, had an argument with a partner, just feeling fat in general and you get home have that healthy dinner but then crave sugar, fat or alcohol or...
Why diet is a dirty word (in my opinion) When I hear the word diet, I immediately think of something short term, unsustainable, restrictive, depressing…the list goes on. They are notorious for being a quick fix that works well initially but will dismally fail at...
Here is the thing that many people, including a lot of trainers, overlook: diet. The single most important tool that you need in order to develop your abs is diet. Regardless of what you’ve heard, or what the latest hyped up fat loss pill promised...
I know my clients and friends find bikini and fitness comps a little strange and you know what.? I agree! I mean you spend weeks on end prepping, training super hard, eating a calorie controlled diet, spending thousands, to be on stage for a few...
You eat too much refined sugar. Eating added sugar will cause an insulin spike (which will make us very energetic) but then will take us back down to where we came from in no time at all. For some this can be a constant cycle...
Had some fun this morning with our group training sessions. Marc and the girls doing some pretty hard core stairs and sprints during the group sessions…felt a bit woosy at some stage so I know I pushed myself pretty hard! Marc had us do stair repeats up Queensie stairs followed by some harsh sprints up the hill and then sand ! 45 seconds of sprinting is loooong I tell you. Something I learnt today is that your mind can be very powerful and it can be the one thing that will either see you get over the edge of set you up for failure. I actually had to tell my brain during the group training session that I was going to make that last sprint and I was going to do it the fastest yet. Well my body just seemed to follow once my brain said 'ok'. We also saw a guy run past us who we later found out from Marc came 10th in the Hawai Iron Man Competition..wow, I asked Marc how much he would train and Marc said he is a professional trainer (hence he trains all day). That is some amazing stuff that I really can't comprehend. I think the 1 hour we spend doing our group training is more then enough!
Have had a yummy brekkie of organic oats, cranberries, walnuts and banana and now getting ready to go for my fave skim cap from down the road…have an awesome one.xx
p.s btw – hope Marc doesn't mind – but posted a photo of him finishing the Iron Man Challenge in Port Macquarie considering we are talking all things tough!
