29 Jul Weekend Challenge!!
Ok guys so a Saturday morning group training session is coming your way but before that we still have a few Saturdays free so I thought I would give you a little challenge for Saturday morning. I find a workout on a Saturday really gives me that extra energy and enthusiasm for the weekend and I want to see if that does the same for you!
First up I want you to get out of bed (Maybe not at 6am but something a little bit less offensive…mmm…say 7am) and get straight into your runners and gym clothes without thinking about it (cause I know when I start thinking about exercise, you are more then likely going to convince yourself its so much nicer to stay in bed) and head straight out the door for a 10 minute run. (Now for this 10 minutes I want you to start out slowly (about 2 minutes) and then you are going to set yourself up for a little interval training. You will run hard and out of your comfort zone for approx 15 secs and then take it easy for the next 30 secs and you are going to continue to do this for 8 minutes (you may need a watch!). Try it on a straight and level path, sand or if your keen up and down hills! Once you are done doing that for 10 minutes you are going to feel it! Give yourself a little break at the end and then you are going to do some bodyweight exercises fantastic for cardio and burning fat. Your going to start with 20 jump lunges, 20 pushups, 30 situps and 20 tricep dips and do a sprint for about 50 metres. You can do this spring up a hill, stairs, sand etc or if you are at home really fast high knees for about 20 seconds as fast as you can. When you jog back you are not resting and you are doing it straight away and this time it is 15 times for each set. The third time will be 10 and the last 5. Phew..I guarantee you will have worked up a sweat and the heart will be pounding.
