09 Oct Time to get your yoga on
In the midst of summer you may be feeling physically fit, but have you ever wondered why you feel so sore and tight in some areas of the body, especially after workouts? Ever wondered why you can’t touch your toes? Yoga is the ideal complement to other types of training and just one session a week has been proven to reduce muscle recovery time, prevent injuries and strengthen key muscle groups (as well as getting you a little bit bendier!). And the other good news is that ANYONE can do it and EVERYONE can benefit from it.
This session will be a great introduction to yoga for the complete beginner and even seasoned practitioners. Benefits include:
- Strengthening the legs, core, arms and back
- All over body toning
- Stretching those commonly tight areas like hips, shoulders and hamstrings
- Focus on strengthening muscles around those problem joints like knees, ankles and the spine
- Detoxify the body through sweat and rinsing out the internal organs
- Improving concentration and self discipline
- Releasing tension from the body as well as the mind
- In this session we’ll be skipping the chatarangas and holding the poses for longer: think less flow, more alignment. This will give you a chance to really feel the pos in your body and understand the benefit. Perfect for post cardio workout.
