Girl holding scales - beating the christmas bulge blog

My top tips for beating the christmas bulge

Eat clean: This means food that have a limited ingredient list. Think fresh fruit and vegetables, unprocessed carbs, lean meat and other protein sources, small amount of healthy fats, no fat dairy and water, water, water!

Choose full fat over low fat: The REAL culprit to weight gain is sugar, not fat. So next time you are shopping, look at the sugar content and compare. Research is knowledge and knowledge is power my friends!

Don’t play victim: Don’t give up your healthy and fit ways just because it is the silly season. Take control of your life and refuse to give in to the yearly tradition of partying hard through December. We all have a choice and friends and family should be supportive not negative when it comes to your own choices.

Limit carbs on the day of a Christmas party: If you know that the party is going to be serving carbalicious morsels, try and limit your carb intake to just breakfast. Even better, get a workout in the morning to already be in a calorie deficit.

Finally: Don’t be too hard on yourself either. Christmas is the time for being together and celebrating with good food and wine! Remembering there is always the next day or next year to get back on track.

Merry Christmas!
